and my nightmares will have nightmares every night:

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Memorial Day - along with spending time with loved ones and ignoring the less than ideal weather most of us are used to for this time of year, do remember the true reason behind why this holiday exists (though let's be honest, today is b-e-a-utiful). A big thank you is necessary.

A special, dare I say SUPER special, edition of Mixtape Monday is coming your way, just 'cause. This week the tunes are brought to you by my dear friend Matt Talmage of Man In A Crowd. The band hails from the New York City area, so if that's also where you call home or near where, keep an eye out for shows around the area. If you remember, the debut album from his band Man In A Crowd was on NBH's top album list from last year. He and I often share music with each other through Spotify, so there's no one better to give you two, yes, I said it TWO playlists for today.

the present has no ribbon, your gift keeps on giving:

We've turned a corner, a corner into a playlist full of guilty pleasures (though, let's be honest, these may not be the worst...). I do love acoustic guitars and indie bands and songs with all of the feelings in the world, obviously, but I also can't help but love anything I can move to. I'm a dancing fiend, and sometimes to the point of embarrassing..., well, not myself, but all of those around me. These songs are the perfect pick-me-up for if your possible Monday blues carry into your Tuesday fun. Enjoy!

I Love It - Icona Pop feat. Charli XCX
Domino - Jessie J
Hang With Me - Robyn
Pompeii - Bastille
Get Lucky - Daft Punk, Pharrell Williams
Same Love - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis feat. Mary Lambert

Happy 30th blog post to NeverBeenHeard - a lovely accomplishment, and by no means a halting point. We've only just begun. There's lots of good coming your way, including interviews with Redleg Husky and A Paper Tugboat, which you've all been patiently waiting on (thank you for bearing with me!). Also - there are two very exciting interviews coming up, and as soon as I can share more on those with you I will. In the meantime, while you wait patiently, enjoy this week's Mixtape Monday.

and if i could be who you wanted all the time:

It's a foggy morning here in Boston, and it's been quite a long time since I've woken up and haven't been able to see all the skyline from my window. Due to all this, I've subdued things a bit with this week's mix in comparison to a few of the most recent weeks. Less dance-y, less in your face to get you moving, but the same amount of good tunes and good feelings for you on this lovely day (yes, it will be lovely). Just get some coffee in you to clear out your own personal fog and press play.

Have a good day, everyone!

New York City - Among Savages
Among The Leaves - Sun Kil Moon
